Today Marcel de Graaff, MEP for Forum forDemocracy, had a constructive conversation with Jos Ubels, the combative foreman of Farmers Defense Force, in the European Parliament. The topic of conversation was the battle the Dutch government and the European Commission are waging against Dutch farmers.
Marcel de Graaff considers the Farmers Defense Force the most important representative of farmers' interests. "They have thousands of farms as members. They are people who have agricultural businesses themselves and know exactly how the sector works. "said de Graaff.
De Graaff felt it was a great privilege to hear directly fromFarmers Defence Force itself how the Dutch government is deliberately getting farmers into trouble. He emphasized that the injustice farmers face is deeply affecting and even worse than the media would have us believe. Farmers work hard, day in and day out, to ensure our food supply, but are then cheated and possibly even expropriated by the government. The climate and nature policy of this government is a danger to the Dutch food supply. De Graaff calls on everyone who doubts this to talk to the farmers themselves. De Graaff also calls on the Dutch government and the European Commission to comply with the demands of the Farmers Defense Force. He emphasizes that without farmers there is no food.
Marcel de Graaff once again showed thatFVD truly presents itself as the farmers' party of the Netherlands. The party ofThierry Baudet shows great value in dialogue and listening to the dissatisfaction of Dutch farmers. With De Graaff in the European Parliament, FVD provides a powerful counter voice in Brussels.
