Aggressive asylum seeker stands trial for gruesome attack with boiling hot oil in AZC

| by Mark Jongeneel

Today an aggressive asylum seeker is on trial for a terrible act that has forever scarred the lives of employees at an asylum seekers' center (AZC). This Iranian, whose asylum application had been rejected several times, wanted to force his stay in the Netherlands by throwing boiling oil over two employees. It is a tragic incident that exposes the profound problems in our immigration policy and failing government.

The victims of this horrific attack have been maimed for life. The physical and emotional suffering they endured is indescribable. It is a painful reminder of the dangers that staff at AZCs face every day in the performance of their duties, where they are required to provide care and support to vulnerable individuals.

The outrage over this incident is understandable and shared by many people, including Geert Wilders. He rightly criticizes the failing government and points out that this barbaric act could have been prevented if the asylum seeker had been deported or detained after repeated rejection of his request. It is a glaring example of an immigration policy that does not adequately deal with the safety and protection of its own population and those who provide services in the AZCs.

This incident also raises serious questions about the procedures and oversight within our immigration system. How is it possible that a person with a series of rejected asylum applications can still be in the country? Why was action not taken earlier to ensure the safety of society? These questions require thorough investigation and accountability by the responsible agencies.
