Former Vice President Mike Pence runs for president and faces off against Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis

In an unexpected announcement, former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has announced announced his intention to make a bid for the presidency. Several US media outlets report that Pence will announce his official participation will be announced. This decision places him directly opposite his former boss, former President Donald Trump.

At age 63, Pence is launching his campaign with a powerful video and a speech in Iowa, one of the states where the election circus traditionally kicks off. Trump is still hugely popular within the Republican party. Only a small percentage, less than 4 percent, prefer Pence as their candidate.

With this move, Pence enters a political landscape dominated by the shadow of his former boss. He will undoubtedly face challenges and opposition, as Trump's presence continues to have a profound influence on the Republican party. Pence will have to show show that he is capable of making his own mark, and his vision and leadership separate from the controversies and divisions of recent years.

also Ron DeSantis, Florida's governor has officially registered with the Federal Election Commission. DeSantis has recently attracted a lot of attention attracted as a promising Republican rising star. His approach to the COVID-19 pandemic and his conservative policy agenda have earned him a loyal base of supporters.

The announcements by Pence and DeSantis have heightened tensions within the Republican Party. While Trump is still hugely popular among his supporters, polls show that less than 4 percent of Republicans prefer Pence as their candidate.
